What to expect from The Ergonomics Society of South Africa's professional development workshops:
The Ergonomics Landscape:
Workshop 1 sets out what a competent person must actually know about the law.
The opening session places the Ergonomics Regulations in their regulatory context, showing how they connect to the wider body of health and safety and labour legislation rather than standing on their own. Depending on the workplace and its risks, this draws in other regulations and duties a competent person is expected to be familiar with. Attendees who complete the session sit a short assessment, and those who pass receive a certificate that speaks directly to the requirement that a competent person be familiar with the Act and its applicable regulations.
