Artificial Intelligence - Just another new technology or a game-changer for decent work and human factors?

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and methods are considered to be a key driver of innovation in future technological development. They result into a comprehensive and often disruptive transformation within many areas, that is not limited to individual sectors and special applications. This development comes along with a wide range of challenges in ergonomic work and workplace design, for decent work in general, especially in terms of occupational safety and health. They are relevant to a vast majority of businesses and companies, manufacturers and operators, as well as to occupational safety and health surveillance inspection. This is especially true for high-risk AI, such as AI for safety functions or AI for personnel management, where errors or malfunctions have far-reaching consequences.
